If you don't want to start from scratch in spring, you have to freeze your ass off outside and spend two hours cleaning your bike after every ride. But that doesn't have to be the case: The smart trainer from Wahoo allows you to do intensive training sessions right in your living room. And thanks to the ZWIFT training platform, every ride becomes an exciting experience. Compete with friends in a fast race in Watopia or conquer Mount Ventoux together with athletes from all over the world. Sure, the mountain is only virtual, but the pain of the climb is real. With the Wahoo KICKR Core and ZWIFT, you can take your winter training to the next level and be fit as a fiddle by next spring.
With a little manual skill, the KICKR Core is ready to go in just a few minutes. All you have to do is mount the two support feet and you're ready to go. The exercise bike is compatible with all common axle standards and fits frames with 28 and 29 inch wheels. For 27.5 inch wheels, we recommend using the optionally available front wheel support to bring the frame into a horizontal position. The exercise bike is controlled via a smartphone app or a PC. This allows the resistance to be set and performance data to be read or evaluated. It transmits speed, distance and required power without the need for additional accessories. Cadence and heart rate can also be measured with optional sensors. With a maximum resistance of 1800 watts and an incline simulation of up to 16 percent, the Wahoo KICKR Core is one of the most powerful on the market. To prevent boredom, the KICKR Core can be linked to the virtual world of ZWIFT. In this way, an almost infinite number of riding situations can be simulated. The exercise bike automatically adjusts the resistance to the selected route. A paid membership is required to use ZWIFT, either as a monthly or annual subscription.
As soon as you start pedaling, you will appreciate the high quality of workmanship. Thanks to the sturdy tubes, nothing wobbles, vibrates or tilts. You'll feel safe at all times, even if you get out of the saddle. Noise will also not be a problem: The reliable belt drive works smoothly and almost silently, so you can easily complete your training sessions in the evening.
ZWIFT Cog & Click
The integrated Zwift Cog & Click system replaces the cassette on the Smart Trainer with a single sprocket. With the Zwift remote control, you can still shift 24 virtual gears on the handlebars. The elimination of mechanical shifting means that the indoor trainer is quieter and drive parts such as the chainring and chain are subject to less wear. Another advantage is the compatibility of the system with several bikes with different drivetrains, without having to readjust the derailleurs.
